Dandy-Walker Malformation: Axial CT scans. Note the absence of the cerebellar vermis and enlargement of the 4th ventricle and posterior fossa.

Dandy-Walker Malformation is a rare congenital malformation of the posterior fossa. The cerebellar vermis is absent or malformed associated with an enlarged 4th ventricle and posterior fossa, and displacement of the tentorium upward, forming a cyst in the posterior fossa. This malformation may also be associated with abnormal Foramina of Luschka and Magendie, which then results in non-communicating hydrocephalus.
